Megan Alsop is a Licensed Master Social Worker who enjoys working with adolescents,
adults and couples. She was pre-med and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in
Biology from Texas Christian University, later going on to receive a Master of Social
Work degree with a concentration in Mental Health and Substance Misuse from the
University of Texas Arlington. She has professional experience working at inpatient
hospital and partial hospitalization programs, as well as personal experience as a
mother raising three young girls.
Megan specializes in depression, anxiety, shame and relational struggles. She
prioritizes meeting clients where they are, emphasizing empathy and connection so
clients have a space to be heard and understood. She desires the opportunity to
authentically be with clients and offer guidance and support while recognizing that
clients are the experts of their story.
Megan primarily utilizes an eclectic, person-centered approach. She can integrate
modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), existential therapy,
and the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), which is especially helpful for working
through trauma and early attachment wounds.
Megan is passionate about working with those who feel they are not enough, those in
life transitions, couples who are pregnant or with young children, and anyone struggling
with feelings of hopelessness. She welcomes clients from all backgrounds and
identities. Megan has a kind, curious and collaborative approach with sessions and
works earnestly to support her clients to build resilience, find deeper meaning, and
develop greater self-understanding.
